Many of my high school and college students

"There is no one I trust more with my essays, Len turns average writing into extraordinary works of art. The 1,500 mile gap between us
had no effect on how efficiently we were able to prepare my college application essays. I couldn't be more pleased with them and I'm excited to see what doors they have opened for me. She is truly fantastic."

Long Distance Adult Students
I am happy to have a whole range of adult students from beginning writers to those who are more advanced. Everyone comes with a desire to be a better writer and the opportunity to work together has been a real joy in my life. Here are a few of my adult students and their responses to our time together. As you can see, distance is not a problem thanks to the Internet!
Juliana: Poet,
Fiction Writer and
Memorist
from Texas
.
A number of years ago I took a course from Len Leatherwood. It changed my life: a piece of flash fiction I wrote then was a finalist in a contest. This inspired me to keep writing, which led to the publication of my book of poetry a little over a year ago.

I highly recommend Len Leatherwood – teacher, mentor, friend and miracle – to anyone, young or old, who wants or needs help finding and encouraging that shy spark of creativity that huddles within us all. She’s the best. I am 70 years old and finally writing!
Patricia: Novelist
from Florida
Len is a gifted teacher with expertise in both writing and psychology. With that powerful combination, she not only comprehends story, she has a remarkable demeanor, which gently holds the student and pushes simultaneously. She mentored me through my entire project, never taking over the writing, but rather inspiring me to dig deep within myself, work arduously, and bring forth my very best. In the end, I not only have a worthwhile novel, I have a dear friend.
Mary Ann: Memoirist and Blogger
from Texas
Len has many skills, including word crafting and engagement with those who do course work with her. It is rare to find someone so adept at mentoring people of all ages who have interests and writing goals that are widely varied. I not only enjoyed my work with her, but felt my writing skills were sharpened as well as affirmed. She knows how to encourage her students to produce their best work and does so with lively wit and clear instruction. I not only found in her a teacher with professional skills and expectations, I found a friend!
