This morning Ray and I have been setting our calendar for through the first of the year. We usually do this so we can plan when we’ll go to Texas and to Ojai so that we can make sure we stay on top of our projects there, but this time it is a bit more complicated. We have Sarah’s wedding to factor in and also her many interviews for residency, which gives us the chance to take care of our beloved little Luna Isabella. Plus, we are working hard to complete the house in Texas by January so that we can put it on the market, which means that we need to be there more than our usual trips or at least to stay longer when we are there.
I am happy to report that has so far Sarah has received 14 invitations for interviews for residency in either Family or Preventive Medicine. This is wonderful news and a relief to all of us since she is limited in how far away she can go since her husband and child are here in Southern California. Of those 14, several are in far-off cities in CA (plus Las Vegas) and she already has plans to decline those interviews. So, that still leaves about 10 she will go to. We won’t keep Luna for all those interviews, but, hopefully, for most of them. So, those dates are especially important on our calendar.
This next month alone promises to be very eventful since we are planning Sarah and Gregorio’s wedding blessing and reception after their much less formal official wedding in the summer. This is not going to be a huge event, but there will be probably around 75 people, so we have our work cut out for us. This also is 2 days past Thanksgiving, which is another big event in our family which will now be bigger since we will have additional out-of-town guests arriving to celebrate both Thanksgiving and the wedding. So, yes, there is a lot of planning to do.
Our goal is to remain calm and be systematic. We also want to be judicious with money. More than anything, we want to have it planned well so that we can all relax and enjoy this event. Luckily, Sarah is very organized, which is not small feat with a 6-month-old baby. Alas, we will do our best.
