Today, our oldest daughter, Sarah, became Dr. Sarah Beaty. She is now a bona fide physician who is ready to head off to her three year residency in Family Medicine beginning the middle of June. To say I am proud is certainly true, but I am also delighted to see Sarah accomplish a goal that she set her mind to seven years ago when she went back to school to get her medical school prerequisites. She has approached this process as she has approached long distance swimming, one stroke at a time, and after a very long time, she has arrived at this new shore.
She now has her next adventure ahead: residency. This is another part of the medical training process with its own set of challenges. Again, one stroke at a time…
Here are some pictures of Sarah, our family and close friends who were there for the graduation and then the picnic afterwards in a nearby park.
A big day, a lovely celebration.
Congratulations, Sarah. Your patients will be lucky to have such a caring and compassion doctor. I am pleased and happy for you. You are as they say, “One of the good ones.”
Much love to the new doctor in our family. Big hugs from your mother, who thinks you are terrific.
