We just returned from the Annenberg Space for Photography in Beverly Hills where we saw an exhibition called, “Who Shot Rock and Roll.” This featured 166 photos from the top rock photographers of the ’50’s – present, with photos of the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, Joni Mitchell, Frank Zappa,
Boy Dylan, The Doors, Tina Turner etc., etc., etc.
Along with the photos, there’s a documentary specially made for the Annenberg with interviews with many of those photographers and their experiences getting to take pictures of this iconic artists and bands.
Admission is free and the exhibition is there until October 7.

I highly recommend this exhibit. It is really well done with intimate, non-posed photos of many of these artists. And the documentary will take you right back to the ’60’s and ’70’s. It’s a fun way to spend an evening and if you park over at Century City mall and walk the block to the Annenberg, then you can even park for free for three hours.
A strong thumbs-up from me for the exhibition. A definite must-see if you love rock and roll.
