Half-way to North Central Texas

We have just arrived via van and U-Haul in Benson, AZ where we will stay the night before heading on to Sherman, Texas tomorrow. We have driven 10 hours, covering 425 miles. We had lots of traffic for the first 3 hours. We have about 11 more to go, give or take an hour or two. We have 925 miles to go, but, hopefully, it’s fast driving.

The dogs are wrestling with each other after the long drive and Ray is acting as if he just woke up (he’s been driving for the past 3 hours.) It looks as if we might be awake for a while with this crowd…

Now the dogs are having a snack. Ray is trotting around filling up glasses of ice for water. The television is two minutes from being turned on. Less than two minutes.

Ray just opened the curtain so he can check on the van and trailer. We have the U-Haul to bring furniture for the upstairs of the Victorian that we’ve been storing in Ojai.

Tomorrow we are up early. We have had perfect weather. We’re taking the southern route through El Paso to avoid a snow storm forecast for Flagstaff. Hopefully, this good weather will continue. The forecast is good, but we are aware that there is snow and ice near Sherman. Hopefully, not by the time we arrive there tomorrow night.

I have nothing to say other than we’ve made it this far and now I hear a baby crying in the room next door. Oops. Maybe dogs wrestling and the television blaring disturbed the little one. Ray just went over and turned down the television.

On that note, I’ll say good night. What are you doing during this “between-holidays” time? Let me know. It’s nice to hear.
