Finally in Sherman, Texas after leaving LA at 7 am yesterday morning. Flew to Dallas and crept over icy roads to daughter Rachael’s house in McKinney. Stayed there overnight and had lots of fun (slumber party!), then headed out at noon for the 30 mile drive to Sherman. Arrived here 4 ½ hours later after stop and start traffic on Highway 75 made the roads near impassable. The ice is slippery and dangerous. We are now snug in our home here and grateful to be here with no major incidents. Now it’s time to rest and enjoy our Texas home. It’s down to 29 tonight, then up to the mid-30’s tomorrow before plunging to 19 degrees tomorrow night. Then the warm-up begins just as we hop in the van with the doggies and head back to LA. A quick trip, but a good break for me after all the hubbub of Thanksgiving and the wedding. This is peaceful and easy. So, I’m happy.
On that note, I’ll say good night. I think I’ll just enjoy being here and rest now.
