Honey-Sweetened Brownies with an Unexpected Ingredient

These delicious brownies were made by Liz’s boyfriend’s mother, Cindy Betty, as a dessert for us last night at the Betty home. Thank you, Cindy. These are really tasty and beautiful!

Ingredients (Makes 12 brownies)

1 can black beans, drained and rinsed very well (The unusual ingredient) 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder pinch of sea salt 1/3 cup honey 2 tablespoons coconut oil, melted 1 1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract 3 eggs

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

2. Combine all ingredients in a food processor and blend until completely smooth.

3. Pour the batter into a greased (I used cooking spray) 8×8 baking dish.

5. Bake for 18 minutes.

6. Allow the brownies to cool for at least 10 minutes before cutting into 12 squares. These brownies are super gooey and delicious but cool longer to allow the brownies to better solidify.

Add honey-sweetened whipped cream and top with raspberries.
