We are back in Lyon House in Texas. Rachael is sleeping in the next room. The dogs, who we haven’t seen in three weeks, are asleep at the foot of our bed. The wind is blowing outside, making the trees sway. The night is quiet except for the whistle of a passing train. We are here, safe and sound, and I am glad. Glad to see my baby girl, glad to see Cordelia and Sammie, and glad to be back in this wonderful house. Yea.
This is a quick post since I have been up since 5 am. We volunteered at the homeless breakfast this morning in LA, which meant being there by 6. I had a student from 10 – 12, then we zipped around finishing up our preparation for our trip before Sarah drove us to the airport. It’s been a long, but good day. I think it’s a good time to now put my head on the pillow and sleep.
