Tomorrow we head back to CA from Texas. We’ve had a brief, but wonderful time here in the Lone Star State even if the temperatures plummeted to 12 degrees while we were here. Last time there was an ice storm. People are starting to suggest that the bad weather seems to always coincide with our visits. Hmm….
Daughter Rachael came over this evening and collected our two furry friends, Cordelia and Sammy, to go stay with her for 2 weeks until her dad returns. Periodically Rachael has done dog-sitting for us so that we can drive one way and fly the other, a much more civilized approach to cross-country travel, particularly when the leaving and return are in close proximity to one another.
Ray and I don’t really want to go back to CA right now since we’ve just settled in to work on several projects, but alas…we have worked to attend to and, more importantly, a little granddaughter to see immediately upon our return. If fact, Sarah and Luna are picking us up from the airport and spending the night with us tomorrow night so Sarah can head out early the next day for another residency interview. We’ll also see Liz tomorrow evening, too, so it may be one big slumber party.
So, with that in mind, I will close. We are up and out early tomorrow with an 8:30 flight from DFW, which is about 60 miles from here. I can’t wait to get in bed. It is almost 11 and my eyes are closing as I write.
Hugs to all. My next post will be from LaLaLand.
