Tonight we went to see Leonard Cohen at the Nokia Theater. The show was sold out. This was a Father’s Day gift from our daughter Liz. This was the 2nd time I’ve seen Leonard Cohen in the past 3 years. He is one of my favorite singer/ songwriters, and the fact that he is still touring at 78 makes the whole experience even better.
The show was packed with fans, and Cohen started promptly at 8. Besides a short intermission, he sang until 11:30. He has the good sense to have excellent back-up singers since his voice isn’t that strong. He sings/talks the lyrics, all of which he has written. But don’t think that takes away from the experience, it doesn’t. The profundity of his words is all you need. I would highly recommend attending this concert if it comes to your city. A fabulous show, all round.
Now we are waiting for the subway to go home. Can’t wait for bed!
