We have just returned from an evening with Sarah, Gregorio and Luna where we went to Levitt Pavilion in Pasadena and heard a band from Austin named Whiskey Shivers. The park was crowded with families and other residents of the city, and the night was cool. Everyone either brought lawn chairs or spread blankets out on the grass. We did both. Whiskey Shivers is a bluegrass band and they were fast, in-tune, and well-versed in two dozen bluegrass songs. I had the pleasure of holding Luna for much of the evening as she listened attentively to the music and sucked alternatively her fist and her thumb.
We are headed to Texas this weekend so this was the second day in a row that we’ve visited with Sarah, Gregorio and Luna. We needed another dose of love before heading east.
Liz and Ron have traveled to Orcas Island off the coast of Washington for a few delightful days. I am eager to see pictures of this place. I have read about it and it sounds beautiful. They are with Ron’s parents and are visiting one of the Betty family relatives there.
We will get to see Rachael while we’re in Texas. Of course, this will be a major treat since we haven’t seen our youngest girl since her move a month ago. I will look forward to that!
We had a lovely evening tonight. There is almost nothing to compare with a relaxed time spent with people you love.
On that note, I will bid you adieu.
