I specialize in short stories, poetry, personal essays, memoir, and college essays. With my guidance, many of my students have won writing contests and/or published their pieces in literary journals, anthologies, magazines, or e-zines.

Many of my high school and college students

have been admitted to their first choice undergraduate and graduate schools due in

large part to their superlative personal statements and college essays.

Sessions are conducted either in person in

Los Angeles or on the phone/Internet.

Nico’s Birthday in Mexico

A day filled with Mexican and American family, celebrating little Nico’s birthday. Nico’s grandfather, two uncles, aunt and first cousin joined us today for the party. Nico’s grandmother couldn’t be with us because she is in Mexico City taking care of another of her sons after his surgery. We missed you, Margarita!

There were lots of good things: pizza, swimming, cake, presents, games, visiting and laughter. Nico fell asleep before the party ended, the sign of a happy (and pooped) birthday boy. I believe we can safely say our little Nico’s 4th birthday has been properly celebrated by his family on both sides of the border. A very happy day indeed.
