Off to Ojai and the Meteor Shower

We are heading out to Ojai to escape the city lights and enjoy the meteor shower from the dark recesses of our orange grove.  The skies are crystal clear and the temperature is mild.  It should be a lovely night to savor the stars and the howls of coyotes.

Our dogs are with us, snuggled up in the back seat of the van.  Our children, all grown up now, are spread from Texas to Washington State, at least for tonight.  Ron and Liz return from Orcas Island tomorrow and Sarah, Gregorio and Luna are getting settled in their new digs in Pasadena.  Soon I will get to see my sweet Rachael in Texas.

Traffic is still slightly heavy leaving LA on the north 405 even at 7:17 pm.  Oh well, our work is done for the day and we have to wait for nightfall to enjoy the meteor shower.  I don’t suppose we are in a major hurry.

Off we go.  I am looking forward to our first night out on the land in a long time.  Life is good.

Until tomorrow…
