Pann’s Restaurant – home of fried chicken wings and waffles – was featured in the film Pulp Fiction. I love that film and I love Pann’s. We often go there when we’re taking someone to LAX to fly out since it’s right on the way.
Pann’s has been around for over 50 years and is a family owned restaurant. They are known for chicken and waffles, which I’ve had and they are GOOD. Here is a picture:
Tonight we were with our friend, Ian, who happens to also be our priest. We were taking his parents – John and Jan – to LAX so they could head back to Wales. But first it’s our tradition to stop at Pann’s. After all, it’s a long trip and they needed some good old-fashioned American food for a proper send-off.
John had fish and chips; Jan had a pancake; and Ian, Ray and I had trout. Each dish was delicious. Plus, I ordered biscuits with my meal and they were big, hearty and homemade.
John and Jan are now at LAX getting ready to board their plane. The rest of us are back at our respective houses still comfortably full from our excellent meal.
If you want to have a sense that you’ve had a true LA experience, then Pann’s Restaurant is a must-see. The exterior is pure Jetson – futuristic with a crazy roofline and a seriously 50’s original look.
Pann’s is located at 6710 La Tijera Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90045.
They have all sorts of food, which tends to be delicious, plus desserts that are all homemade in their kitchen.
And sometimes you can even imagine Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta walking in just like they did in Pulp Fiction. But instead of having a showdown, they might just order up some chicken and waffles.
