I specialize in short stories, poetry, personal essays, memoir, and college essays. With my guidance, many of my students have won writing contests and/or published their pieces in literary journals, anthologies, magazines, or e-zines.

Many of my high school and college students

have been admitted to their first choice undergraduate and graduate schools due in

large part to their superlative personal statements and college essays.

Sessions are conducted either in person in

Los Angeles or on the phone/Internet.

Photos from the Orange Grove

Here are photos I took yesterday at the orange grove. You will see the various succulents we have growing there. We returned to LA this morning ten minutes before my first student. I’ve been working steadily all day with students. College essay time has begun again and high school seniors are making their way in this direction. Of course I am happy about that because I love personal essays, writing them and helping others to find just the right way to express who they are and what they feel. So, life is good.
