Ray and I have been preparing all day today for our westward trek, which starts early tomorrow morning. We have wrapped up all the last-minute details that come when you live in two places. We had business dealings this morning, lunch with an old friend, spent the afternoon at the antique mall adding inventory to our two booths, and then came home and started preparing the house for our departure and the van for our trip.
Ray just walked by and I said,”How you doing, honey?”
“I’m tired,” he said.
Amen.
We have had a great trip. Our garage sale was the best we’ve ever had in terms of profits and camaraderie. Our work on the condo in Fort Worth was most satisfying. Our time here with family and friends has been low-key and happy.
We will head out early tomorrow and aim for Ojai, CA, where two of our three kids and their families/friends will be camping at the orange grove for the 3-day Memorial Day holiday. We hope to join them by mid-afternoon on Sunday.
I am looking forward to going to bed early and getting a good night’s sleep so I can be rested for the drive.
Here’s to a happy, safe and relaxed Memorial Day weekend for all.
I’ll be checking back in with you tomorrow.
