Work at the Orange Grove Today

Today Ray and I spent all day in Ojai. We were getting the orange grove ready for an onslaught of campers this weekend: Sarah and Gregorio, Liz and Ron and friends. Ray and I do well with deadlines so this gave us the perfect impetus to make our orange grove hospitable for our guests.

The best part is that we stayed until the evening and got to see baby Luna. She was all cuddly and giggly and in general just the happiest baby I’ve seen in a long time.

Here are pictures from the orange grove:

This picture was taken in late afternoon.  We have oranges on the trees that will be ready in June and also blossoms and tiny new green oranges, as well.  The air is thick with the scent of orange blossoms, delicious,                                                        and bees and hummingbirds are busy with their work.

Here is Ray’s big blue trunk and lots of oranges on the trees.

If you want to make Ray happy, just let him buy a big blue truck…

We have just returned from our workday in Ojai and now I need to go to bed.  We are due to be up bright and early for the homeless breakfast at St. Thomas the Apostle in Hollywood.  We know that many of our usual kitchen staff will be gone this weekend, so if you’re looking for a fulfilling and fun morning, then head over to 7501 Hollywood Blvd. and help us out with the cooking and cleanup.  We can use all the help we can get!

What a lovely day today was.  The temperature was perfect at around 80 degrees, and the company this evening was exceptional.

Off to bed I go.  I can hear the water running in the shower so I know Ray is getting ready for bed.  I better hurry up there and get ready myself.  Early mornings tend to get here fast.
